BI’s famous YouTube vid

This is the BI “famously unpronounceable” video that was pulled within a day after being posted on YouTube. It’s a shame it was pulled but I can totally understand why a pharma company would have reservations about this type of communication. What I cannot understand is how this work got commissioned in the first place!

Pharma Code of Practice

The 2012 ABPI Code is now available at http://www.pmcpa.org.uk/files/ABPI%20Code%202012.pdf.

There is always mention of the internet (a whole section dedicated to it) but no mention of the word “digital” at all. It’s easy to bash the PMCPA for the lack of clarity in the Code with regards “new media” but there is so much more to digital than the internet. What would be great would be a workshop where real world examples could be presented to the PMCPA of projects clients would like to do but have no clear understanding of how the code might affect their efforts.

DJM Digital sponsors PharmaTimes Digital Innovator of the Year

Dominic Marchant, MD of DJM Digital Solution (sponsors of the Digital Innovator categories), said: “The days of experimenting with digital in pharma are long gone – it is now one of the most important components of the marketing mix. There are several agencies producing fantastic digital output but none of this is of any consequence without pioneers from within the industry. These people need to be identified and celebrated as this will raise the digital bar within pharma.”

The event was held in London on 15th December and Pfizer’s European Brand Director Robert Collingbourne won European Innovator whilst the UK category was won by Grünenthal’s Senior Marketing Manager Matt Lowe.

3 new members of the team

The Accounts Team at DJM has recently added 3 new recuits to help with the expansion of the business.  From left to right: Senior Account Executive, Nina Rinagl,  joins DJM from the Lawton Communications Group and manages key projects for Grunenthal, Johnson & Johnson and for AstraZeneca UK and Global. Katinka Byrn joins DJM as Account Executive working closely with Pfizer on the Lipitor account. Adyam Markos completes the team as Senior Account Executive working on projects for clients including Lundbeck and AZ Nordic region. The team report into DJM’s Director of Accounts, Mark Hartley.
